Privacy is an operating constraint.

This notice covers the consumer-facing channels 41 Bit LLC ('41 Bit', 'we') operates: this website, future download and update channels, support, release emails, and company contact paths. We call these 'surfaces'.

Each product can have its own privacy behavior. When a product has its own app, website, account area, checkout, or update service, that product's privacy notice or in-product disclosure controls that surface.

We design every surface we operate around minimal data collection: we collect only what is needed to run the surface, complete a transaction, deliver downloads or updates, provide support, comply with law, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.

We do not run analytics, telemetry, profiling, advertising pixels, or session replay on our surfaces — none are used on this website. If a future surface ever needs one of these systems, we will state its purpose in the relevant privacy notice before it is used.

This website sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. Your theme preference (light, dark, or system) is stored only in your browser's local storage and never transmitted to us.

The contact form and release-note signup send data only when you submit them. We also store limited submission metadata in a Postgres database operated for abuse prevention and operational audit: your IP address (for about ten minutes of flood control), the submitted email address (for up to 24 hours of send-budget tracking), request metadata such as user agent and origin, and the message or signup details you provide. Contact messages are also delivered by email to our inbox; release-note signups are mirrored to our email provider once you confirm.

The site is hosted by Vercel, Inc. (United States), whose infrastructure generates standard access logs — IP addresses and request metadata — used for security and operations.

On this website today, we process contact-form details, release-notes signup email addresses, and support messages. Where a surface handles orders, downloads, or updates, we also process order or license-delivery records, download and update request metadata, security logs, abuse-prevention signals, and legally required business records.

What we process depends on the product and distribution path. We do not collect broad 'product improvement' data as a substitute for a specific operational need.

We process that data only for these purposes:

• operation of company and product surfaces
• release-notes signup, confirmation, delivery, and unsubscribe handling
• transactions, receipts, license delivery, and refunds where applicable
• downloads, updates, release integrity, and abuse prevention
• support, bug reports, and customer communications
• legal compliance, tax/accounting records, fraud prevention, and security

If you sign up for release notes, we process the email address you submit, its confirmation status, and the limited request metadata needed to deliver the signup flow, prevent abuse, and honor unsubscribe requests.

Signup is always double opt-in: we send a confirmation email and subscribe the address only after you confirm. Confirmation links expire after 48 hours. Until you confirm, the address sits with our email provider in an unsubscribed state and receives only confirmation emails, never release notes. Withdraw anytime through the unsubscribe link in any release email or by writing to info@41bit.io.

We use Resend, Inc. (United States) to send confirmation, release-note, and contact-form emails — including your receipt — and to store the release-notes subscriber list on our behalf. Resend receives the email address, confirmation status, your name and message content where applicable, and the delivery metadata needed to provide that service.

Some software we distribute runs entirely on your machine; some relies on product-specific online services. When a product page says local-first or no telemetry, that claim belongs to that product and is backed by how the release is built, vetted, and shipped.

A company-level privacy posture does not mean every future product has identical data flows. Where a product has accounts, billing, activation, downloads, updates, crash reporting, or telemetry controls, its own notice explains them.

We share limited information only when needed for the purposes in this notice — with the service providers behind email delivery, payment or checkout, infrastructure, security, and support. We also share it with professional advisers, or with authorities where the law requires it.

When distribution requires coordination with a Rights Holder, we share only what is reasonably needed for product delivery, support, licensing administration, compliance, or security.

41 Bit LLC is a United States company. Data submitted through these surfaces is processed in the United States, including by the United States service providers named in this notice.

You can ask what data we hold about you, ask for correction or deletion, or object to a specific use by writing to info@41bit.io. Because we collect little, the answer is usually short. If your region has a data-protection authority, you can also lodge a complaint with it.

Our surfaces are general-audience and not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We keep data only as long as the purpose it was collected for requires — operations, support, legal and accounting duties, fraud prevention, and security. Retention can differ by product, transaction, or support context. We limit access to the data we hold and use reputable providers with standard safeguards; because we hold little, the exposure stays small.
